Episode 107

"Agile Learning"

Duration 00:13:17      Recorded on January 22, 2013

Susan and Dan take on the topic of agile learning.

Show Notes:

Topic is not fully formed! We are still exploring and thinking. Dan was exposed to the idea at an ASTD conference. Vanguard University reshaped their design team around the approach.Comes out of the software industry. A framework, not a technique or process. What's different? Rapid development of solutions. Small team with all key decision makers who can meet and move the product forward on a daily basis.Discussion of challenges in corporate setting.Susan seems skeptical for the application in traditional education, although she offers some of what she learned in research.

Using prototypes versus heavy documentation.Focused on interaction more than process. How do you build your own team (realistically)? Agile assumes there will be changes. You are never done. Susan can relate, but this is a paradigm shift for Dan.

Listeners, how do you welcome disruption? How late in the game can you handle changes and what are your strategies for accommodating change?
